Charming and disarming, Elliott Gould is the kind of guy audiences know and love. Born Elliott Goldstein, the Brooklyn babe boasts Ukrainian, Polish, and Russian genes. After paying his dues on Broadway, Mr. Gould appeared in the cinematic comedies Quick, Let’s Get Married (1964) and The Night They Raided Minsky’s (1968). Through the years, he made headlines for marrying Barbra Streisand once and Jennifer Bogart twice — all while balancing a career on film (Ocean’s Eleven, Ruby Sparks) and television (E.R., The Kominsky Method, Grace and Frankie). In addition to hosting Saturday Night Live six times from 1976 to 1980, he played Ross and Rachel’s dad on the hit sitcom Friends (1994-2004). Elliott also scored recurring roles on Fox’s Mulaney (2012-2013) and Showtime’s Ray Donovan (2013-2016).
