They call him “The Muscles from Brussels,” and with good reason. Belgian-born Jean-Claude Van Damme began training in the martial arts at the age of ten, perfecting his technique in Shotokan karate and kickboxing. As a teenager, Jean-Claude also stuffed his junk into a dance belt to do ballet (we’d be his nutcracker any day) and eventually his training won him the body-building title of Mr. Belgium. Swell-gium!

After winning several title in martial arts competitions, The Muscles decided to break into film and moved to Hollywood, USA. After six years of bit parts, J-C got his big break when he was cast in the lead of the 1988 summer blockbuster Bloodsport. Bloodsport was the beginning of the action star’s meteoric rise, followed by Cyborg (1989), Kickboxer (1989), Death Warrant (1990), and 1991’s Double Impact, where Jean-Claude doubled the sweat-soaked muscle-mass onscreen by playing twins. Two Jean-Claude Van Dammes? Get out of our dreams!

His shirtless sexiness just kept getting better with shirtless roles in Jean-Claude Van Johnson, Double Team, Second in Command, Kickboxer: Vengeance and Maximum Risk. It isn't a risk for him to take off his clothes because literally everyone loves it. Do you know what's even better than a shirtless Jean-Claude? Jean-Claude's butt! He went ass out in Lionheart, Legionnaire, Pound of Flesh, and Wake of Death. Oh, and don't worry, you see his hunky bulge in Desert Heat and Replicant. Oh, how we wish we could replicate that bulge. 

In 1992, success continued when he teamed up with sizzling Swedish meatball Dolph Lundgren in Universal Soldier. He followed that up with Nowhere To Run (1993), Hard Target (1993), and Timecop (1994), the most profitable movie of his career. But after the failure of the video game-based Street Fighter (1994), Jean-Claude’s career began to crash and ended with a series of box office flops. In 2008, The Muscles redeemed his reputation with an acclaimed performance as a fictionalized version of himself in JCVD, leading to new roles in Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) and The Expendables 2 (2012). We can only say, “Van damn, he’s hot!”
