The BBC Two and Netflix hooked up to produce the small screen series Giri/Haji (2019). Also known as Duty/Shame, this critically-acclaimed crime drama features an international cast with performers from America (Justin Long), England (Charlie Creed-Miles, Jamie Draven, Sophia Brown, Tony Pitts), and Japan (Anna Sawai, Masahiro Motoki, Togo Igaw, Yūko Nakamura). Under the pen of Joe Barton, the plot kicks in when Detective Kenzo Mori (Takehiro Hira) leaves Tokyo to search for his brother Yuto (Yōsuke Kubozuka) in London. Initially thought to be dead, Yuto is in over his head since he’s accused of murder and has ties to the Yakuza. Luckily, Detective Constable Sarah Weitzmann (Kelly Macdonald) and Japanese-British sex worker Rodney Yamaguchi (Will Sharpe) are around to offer a helping hand — as well as other parts of their anatomy! Even though the show features dialogue in English and Japanese, its various sex scenes are performed in the skinternational language of lust! In episode 3, Mr. Sharpe bares his back and ass while banging a shirtless bloke named Paul (Patrick Walshe McBride) in the sack. The same can be said for Mr. Kubozuka in episode 4, except he’s with a girl. By episode 5, Will is at it again — this time, getting it on with a boy (Ashley Byam) in the bar. Forget about Brits keeping a stiff upper lip, they’re giving Mr. Man a stiffy! In other words, the male nudity in this thriller will have Yanks in the States adding foreign assets to their spank banks!
