Biography

He’s a funny guy, that Nick Kroll. Not only does he have the acting credits to prove it, but the writing credits as well, and the stand-up comedy act. Born and raised in posh Westchester County, NY, he graduated from Georgetown University and has since been dubbed “the Picasso of Puberty” by the New York Times, thanks to the creation of his Netflix animated series Big Mouth, for which he’s also written, produced, and voiced over 30 character voices from 2017-2022. It’s also based on his childhood, and has an Emmy nomination behind it. If you want to see Nick, and not just hear him, you’ve had plenty of chances. He made his first big splash as the character Ruxin in the FX series The League from 2009-2015, where he competed for the Shiva (if you know, you know) while making us laugh uncontrollably. He also had his own comedy series, Kroll Show from 2013-2015, and played Maury on Human Resources in 2022. On the big screen, he’s the voice of Uncle Fester in The Addams Family (2019) and its sequel, and the voice of Gunter in Sing (2016) and its sequel, as well as the voice of Professor Poopypants in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017), which, admittedly, Mr. Man included just because he and the movie have funny names. You can see his bare ass and bare chest as Adam in A Good Old Fashioned Orgy (2011). And, on Broadway (Yes! Broadway!), he and collaborator John Mulaney co-wrote and starred in Oh, Hello for 138 sold-out shows; it spurned a Netflix movie of the same name. And Nick? Well, he just spurns all kinds of things.
