Crime and comedy are two genres that go surprisingly well together. No wonder A-listers lend their talents to such movies — from Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in Billy Wilder’s Some Like it Hot (1959) to Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell, and Henry Golding in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen (2024). In between, Jean Dujardin, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Matthew McConaughey could be seen in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), while Matt Bomer, Russell Crowe, and Ryan Gosling starred in Shane Black’s The Nice Guys (2016). Plus, who could forget John Travolta in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction (1994) or Billy Crystal in Danny DeVito’s Throw Momma from the Train (1987)? And where would Nicolas Cage, William H. Macy, or Jeff Bridges be without the Coen brothersRaising Arizona (1987), Fargo (1996), and The Big Lebowski (1998), respectively. With this list of hits, it’s no wonder Chris Cordone wrote, directed and starred in the mob romp Stevie D (2016). Sure, this indie flick is nowhere near as well known as the aforementioned pics. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a look. The action begins when the titular character (Cordone) accidentally kills the son of a crime boss (Al Sapienza) who wants revenge. As you can guess, murderous mayhem and mistaken identities ensue. Along the way, Mr. Cordone shows off his bare chest and tattooed arms by the pool. The near naked dude also dons some sexy swimwear. Like the sun’s rays, Mr. Man would love to beat down on Chris’s beautiful bod!
