The Sign of the City (2007)

In the movie industry it’s important to read the signs. Perhaps that’s why leading man fans marched to see Fredric March in The Sign of the Cross (1932); Jack Palance and Jeff Chandler in Sign of the Pagan (1954); Vittorio De Sica in The Sign of Venus (1955); Guy Williams in The Sign of Zorro (1958); Jeremy Brett in The Sign of Four (1987); Joaquin Phoenix and Mel Gibson in Signs (2002); Tim Roth in The Last Sign (2005); and Malvino Salvador in The Sign of the City (2007). Also known as O Signo da Cidade, the latter flick comes from Brazil. As such, the exotic drama features Portuguese dialogue as well as shots showing the universal language of love! Under the direction of Carlos Alberto Riccelli, the foreign film centers around an astrologer named Teca played by the movie’s screenwriter Bruna Lombardi, who just happens to be married to Mr. Riccelli in real life. Teca’s radio show offers life advice to lost listeners including risk-taker Lydia (Denise Fraga); gender-confused Josialdo (Sidney Santiago); gold digger Monica (Graziella Moretto), and lonely Gil (Salvador). Of course, Teca throws her professionalism to the wayside when she gets a chance to bed Gil. We can’t blame her since he’s one gorgeous guy. This is especially true when the swarthy stud doffs his duds to reveal his smoking-hot bod in bed! As you can see, Senhor Salvador has the chiseled chest and firm fanny to make women weak in the knees and men hard in their jeans!
