Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! (1990)

Said to be the film that forced the MPAA to create the NC-17 rating, Spain's bad-boy directorfirst Pedro Almodóvar whipped up attention here in the States for his brand of kinky cinema with the release of Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! (1990). The sexy as hell Antonio Banderas plays Ricky, a mental patient who is released from the institution and proceeds to track down Victoria Abril (Marina Osorio), a drug-addicted porn star whom he's been infatuated with since boffing her during one of his many escapes. Unfortunately for Ricky, when he tracks her down on the set of her new movie, she doesn't remember their tryst and is more annoyed by his presence than turned on by it. Convinced he can make her fall in love with him if she'll just give him a chance, Ricky ties her up and tries to get her to love him. But Victoria is a junkie who needs a fix, so Ricky has to hit the streets in search of a dealer to rob. When Banderas returns all beaten up after trying to score some drugs for her, she gives him a pity banging. Of course, once you've been in bed with Mr. Banderas, you're going to fall in love. But when Victoria's sister Lola (Loles Leon) finds her tied to a chair, is she going to accept that her sis is in love with her kidnapper? You'd have to tie Mr. Man's hands behind his back to keep him from touching Antonio! When Antonio is in bed with Marina, there's a great shot from above that lets us see his ass thrusting as the two make love. Marina is loving it, and who wouldn't? A perpetual swinger, Mr. Man might hate the idea of being tied down, but after seeing Antonio in Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! he just might make an exception!
