When they start to suspect their next-door neighbors are in a murderous cult, a couple of young people see dollar signs instead of danger in the found footage horror flick Webcast (2018).British auteur Paul McGhie directed this story that centers around Chloe (Samantha Redford) and Ed (Joe Tremain), two young filmmakers banding together to make a documentary all about Chloe's aunt Amelia, who disappeared three decades ago. But while their project is supposed to be a pretty basic true crime piece, the pair become obsessed with the people living next door to them. After witnessing a woman come screaming and sprinting out of the house, they find out there's a spiritual healer living next-door and become obsessed with the weird cult he seems to be leading. Pivoting their project to be all about that cult, the filmmakers seem to find that everyone in town appear to be involved. But while they think the cult is their ticket to fame and fortune, they fail to realize that head might roll if they keep their cameras rolling. Personally, Mr. Man would rather pay to watch Jean-Marc Chautems doing dirty things on a webcam than watch whatever cult documentary the Webcast people were trying to make. At one point in the movie, Jean-Marc gets fully nude among a line of other naked men who all come down the stairs in the house. Everyone is naked, but we only see Jean-Marc's penis for his full-frontal entry. It looks like Chloe just cockblocked an amazing all male orgy, which is truly unforgivable. We're not rooting for her to die, but it'd be understandable. If there were only a few more scenes like that, Webcast would have you hard, fast!
