James Darren Sexy

We don't know if we can name a more iconic "teen idol" in American film/TV history than this hunky hottie!  James Darren, originally from Philly, was born in 1936 and when he passed the age of 18 decided to use his natural good looks to try and make it in show business in Los Angeles.  After a successful string of smaller roles in military movies, mobster flicks, and westerns, he landed the defining role of his career that turned him into the heartthrob of his day when he was cast as "Moondoggie" in 1959 surf/beach classic Gidget.  He was a star overnight and despite having a wildly successful career in other ventures, he could never quite replication the success of the "teen idol" image he grabbed in the string of surf movies he starred in during the early 1960s.  He went on to put out a couple of hit singles later in 60s and began touring as a crooner, probably because of his long time friendship with the Sinatra family, so much so that he is actually the godfather of Nancy Sinatra's daughter!  He comes our way in the 1964 star-studded beach bonanza, For Those Who Think Young, where he plays (you guessed it!), the hunky heart throb "Ding".  He spends the majority of his time in that one "cruising" for cuties on the beach in his bathing suit.  James definitely had some successful acting gigs later in life too with roles on Fantasy Island, T.J. Hooker, Melrose Place, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.  James is still kicking around, but his last acting gig was in 2017's Lucky and we can say with honesty, he's still sexy on the other side of 80!
